Jared and I met in September of 1997 while attending college. After graduating, I moved to New York City, and he soon followed. In January of 2003 Jared proposed while taking a romantic walk on a beach in the Bahamas. Since we have been dating for so long, we saw no need for a long engagement. We picked the location, the Central Park Boathouse, then picked the date, August 29, 2003. This left me 7 months to plan the wedding. I was panicked about finding my dream dress in time. Then in March of 2003 I took a trip to Scottsdale Arizona to visit friends. There we went dress hunting. At Neiman Marcus I first tried on my Amsale dress. My friends of 20 years began to cry. I think this is when I knew this was it. I continued looking though, but nothing came close to matching the Amsale dress. Upon returning home to New York, I immediately made an appointment at Saks to buy the dress. It was my dream dress.
For our wedding, we wanted a classic "New York" wedding. We wanted to show our friends and family our love for our new home. Everything from the reception site to the invitations was designed to give the feeling of magic you get in the city. Everything was breathtaking, and I am so happy to have found such a beautiful, perfect dress. Every detail of the dress reflected my personality and I will treasure the dress and memories for years to come.
