The seaside wedding of Kathleen Ellen McGahan and Robert Grande took place on May 26, 2001. The Nuptial Mass was held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Chapel on Falmouth Harbor.

The bride chose Falmouth as the setting of the wedding because her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael T. McGahan, Esq. have a summer home in New Silver Beach and she has spent much of her life summering on the Cape.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a blue label gown, designed by Amsale Aberra, made of double-faced satin Duchesse with a stylized, sleeveless, square neckline. The bodice was elaborately embroidered with hand sewn pearls, sequins, faceted bugle beads and Austrian crystals, creating a floral trellis motif. The gown had a natural waistline and full A-line skirt enhanced with a deep back envelope pleat. The cathedral train bustled into a custom-tailored creation. To complement the gown, Kathleen wore; a Swarovski tiara bejeweled in Austrian Crystal and pearls, an elbow length veil, white gloves and satin shoes. She bride carried white roses and stephanotis with bouvardia and sea lavender.

Colleen and Patricia McGahan both served as maids of honor to their sister. The bridesmaids wore an A-line gowns of ice-pink satin with square necklines, and empire waists. White gloves and pearls were also worn. The bridesmaids carried pink oceana roses with pink lisianthus, white stephanotis and sea lavender.

The reception was held at the Popponesset Inn, New Seabury, MA. 150 guests celebrated seaside in a beautiful tent on the beach.

In addition, guests joined the couple for a post-reception aboard the Island Queen Yacht where they were entertained by an Irish band while cruising Vineyard Sound.
