Mike and I became engaged on December 28, 2002. After spending the last 6 years together, I had eagerly awaited the day when my mother and I could go wedding dress shopping. I had had several friends who had made the trip to Cincinnati to Bridal & Formal to purchase their wedding gowns, and as luck would have it, they were hosting an Amsale trunk show in mid-January 2003. Going over, I had some dresses picked out from websites and magazines that I thought were definitely my style—classic, simple, strapless. My mother ended up pulling this dress out of the selection of dresses, which I agreed to try on. It was the third dress I tried on and the instant I saw myself in the mirror, I knew. And when I looked at my mother, who was crying, we both knew that this was the dress. The first words out of my mouth were "this is Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly in one dress." And that's exactly how I felt—like a classic, timeless bride. After staying in the dress for what seemed like an hour trying to make sure that this was "the one" (because my wedding was still over a year away!), we went for it. And I never looked at another dress again.

Our wedding day was the most wonderful day—it was a cool day in January and surprisingly not snowy! The wedding was held in the evening in the Eli Lilly Grand Hall of the Indiana Historical Society, with deep red roses and lots of candlelight. My bridesmaids were in Amsale as well—black strapless satin tops with a black straight satin skirt with train. The dresses simply made the wedding. And the one thing I never stopped hearing that night was how the dress seemed like it was "made for me." I will never forget the feeling that I got that day in January when I tried on this dress for the first time, nor will I ever forget the look on my husband's face the first time he saw me on our wedding day. After spending over 7 years together, I was still able to make him speechless when he saw me in my dress on that day. Thank you so much for helping to make our wedding day the most perfect day we could have imagined!
