This dress is me! Romantic, simple and elegant. I tried on my Amsale dress the first day I went looking; it was the third dress I tried on. I absolutely fell in love with the dress. The look on my mother's face told me, this is my dress. Of course, since it was just my first day out looking and had to be absolutely sure. The next two months I went from Bridal Shop to Bridal Shop to see if anything could compare or sway my decision. I must of tried on close to one hundred dresses. Finally, I went back to my Amsale dress and knew for sure. I bought my dress at an Amsale trunk show at The Wedding Shoppe in Wayne, PA.
I woke up very early on my wedding day with the biggest smile on my face. My dog, Cocoa wasnít even awake yet. I remember my Mom saying, "Happy Wedding Day!" as I woke her. Those words will stick with me forever. It was a phase I have never heard before and I will never forget.
My Matron of Honor came early to be the first one there. She gave me a beautiful rose, as she came in the door. My bridesmaids starting arriving and were equally excited for the day. We all went to the Salon and Spa for hair and make-up appointments, even my 2-1/2 year old flowergirl needed the pampering too. It was so relaxing, drinking Mimosas, chatting with my best friends, and of course getting pampered! It was a wonderful morning, all the girls!
There was some rain showers in the early part of the day, getting into the church was a challenge without getting wet. As we said our vows, it was a miracle. The church lit up in vibrant colors from the sun shining through the stained glass. As we released the doves outside the church, the sun shining, I was in heaven. A beautiful wedding day.
Now is the time, as the trolley pulled away from the church, it was time to start the party. The entire wedding party had cocktails and hors d'oeuvre. Let's say we enjoyed our drive to Valley Forge Park.
Brr, there was a chill in the air. We arrived at the Park for pictures and we took them quickly. Grandparents, parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen and the twins, our ringbearer and flowergirl were all anxious to arrive at The Desmond Hotel to begin the reception.
Arriving during cocktail hour, the girls had time to touch up and the boys able to catch up. After being announced for the first time as husband and wife, the rest was history. From the elegant dinner to the wonderful Chatterband that had everyone up and dancing all night, every moment was special and we would not change a thing.
Jim and I really enjoyed our day. What great memories to hold forever. I couldn't ask for anything more. Our wedding day is just unforgettable!
