Omar and I were married in New York City during Easter Weekend on April 7, 2007. Omar's family, coming from Denmark and Tunisia, and my family, coming from France and Canada, we decided to have the wedding in New York which is the city where we met and where I have been living for the last 6 years.
I started looking for my dress as soon as we got engaged. I knew I wanted something simple and elegant but also glamorous as it was my wedding day. I went to see a couple of designers and Amsale was one of them. I tried on a couple of gowns but I knew which dress was for me as soon as I tried this one on at Amsale on Madison Avenue.
I did not want lace or beading but something very simple. This dress was perfect all in silk taffeta and very fitted on top. The ruching also made it very special. I decided to do the ceremony strapless and I added an alter for the reception. I also decided to keep it very simple with just a pair of chandelier earrings and a veil for the ceremony. I had so many compliments. It fitted me perfectly and I loved wearring it all night.
Wedding planning can be difficult but finding this dress was the best part of it all. Our wedding was perfect and we just returned from a great honeymoon in Hawaii.
