Donald and I met when I was only 17! My best friend decided to take a last minute trip to Boston to visit our good friend, who was at that time attending Boston University. She invited me along for the weekend adventure and I accepted with almost no time to even pack a bag and run out the door to catch the next train. Donald lived next door to our friend. When we met, I immediately felt something spark. Now, Donald and I always say we believe in love at first sight, because it happened to us! For years we remained long distance and finally moved in together in Los Angeles. After living out there for quite a few years, Donald proposed.
We immediately flew to New York to celebrate the engagement with my family and start planning the wedding. Donald and I settled on Capitale, because it was just absolutely stunning. Once the Bowery Savings Bank, it had sixty foot ceilings, marble columns and tons of period grandeur. So, I needed a dress that could live up to the drama. I found the Amsale Ibiza dress at a Saks trunk show and knew immediately it was "the one." My roommate at the time commented that I looked like "Bridal Barbie." That was enough for me! I felt like a beautiful cream puff in it and loved the couture look of the dress. On my wedding day, everyone fussed over what an amazing dress I was wearing. It was truly memorable!
